Double trouble for action man Nicholas Daines

Nicholas Daines has been performing death defying stunts on two of this summer’s blockbuster movies – “Maleficent’ and ‘Edge of Tomorrow’.

Working alongside his childhood movie hero Tom Cruise in ‘Edge of Tomorrow’, he battles an alien race on Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world. Thrown into a time loop, Nicholas is forced to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again … and again.

Nicholas: “It was a fantastic film to be part of and the stunts for the beach landing scenes were quite unique. It was an extremely physically demanding shoot wearing the specially designed giant functional battle ExoSuit weighing in at over 120lbs. Just walking in the suit was hard work, let alone running through mud and being blown up time and time again. You can see my fire burn stunt clearly in the movie as I run past Tom with my body engulfed in flames when he first arrives to battle on the beach.”

The film has already grossed over $340 million worldwide and continues to soar in the ratings.

‘Maleficent’, was released the same weekend and Nicholas can be seen battling with Angelina Jolie in this live-action fairytale. “I absolutely loved making this movie fighting dragons and being part of the magic of Disney. Angelina was amazing to work with and is a great athlete. I’m not often star struck, but she was totally mesmerising to watch.”

Nicholas will make his next cinematic appearance stunt doubling Cillian Murphy on Ron Howard’s upcoming epic ‘In the Heart of The Sea’ due for release next year.
