BBC Wildlife Magazine Power List

Wildlife TV presenters Chris Packham and Jess French were among Britain’s 50 most influential conservation heroes announced in the May issue of the BBC Wildlife Magazine and Maya Plass is one of the ten top wildlife tweeters to follow.

Chris Packham is featured on the cover of the magazine alongside Sir David Attenborough and primate scientist Dr Jane Goodall. This is the very first Wildlife Power List. A list selected by the BBC Wildlife Magazine’s panel of experts of the 50 most important British conservation heroes – those selected are believed to be the people who will have the biggest impact on wildlife in the next decade.

BBC Wildlife Magazine editor, Matt Swaine says: “These are the people who we believe will shape the way we see the natural world in the coming years and who have the greatest potential to deliver a positive outcome for wildlife both in the UK and abroad.”

Chris Packham leads the way for wildlife

Chris Packham features in second place with Matt Swaine’s commenting: “Presenting programmes like the BBC’s Springwatch, Chris inspires millions of people to take an interest in the wildlife on their doorstep, and when he speaks out about wildlife issues from illegal raptor persecution to illegal hunting in Malta, people sit up and take notice. His positive voice and belief that we can and must make a difference means he richly deserves his place on the BBC Wildlife Power List.” Read more >>
