Alec Wilkinson is an exceptional sports presenter and journalist with a wealth of sports broadcasting experience. He’s as much at home presenting at big live OB’s as in the studio or interviewing the top names in sports.
The next few months will see Alec host live pitch-side shows from the Rugby World Cup and, present his second season of Sky Sport’s monthly live Badminton show – the NBL. He’ll continue his regular reporter duties at Champions League games for Fox Sports (USA) and will be covering major sailing events like the America’s Cup World Series.
Whilst football and sailing are his specialities, Alec loves engaging new audiences in less mainstream sports and has anchored badminton, cycling, athletics and various motorsports for Sky Sports. He’s also worked on two winter Olympics, London 2012 and the Commonwealth Games.
Alec has an instinctive ability to spot and tell a good story, skills he honed at Sky News and Central ITV Sport. This background in news also means he can write his own scripts and play a full part in a show’s editorial content.

As a junior sports reporter working for Central ITV Alec spent cold winter days covering the lower reaches of the football league, building contacts with players and managers and developing an understanding of the passion that fuels the game.
In recent years Alec has covered every aspect of the game for Sky’s numerous sports channels both as a presenter and a reporter. He also spent four seasons on the Premier League’s official TV Channel watched by millions of viewers around the globe.
Alec Wilkinson is Britain’s top live sailing presenter. He’s passionate and knowledgeable about the sport and enjoys the challenge of engaging new fans.
