Wildlife & Factual TV Presenter, Wildlife Filmmaker, Voiceover Artist
“My aim is to share the brilliance and beauty of nature. It staggers and inspires me in equal measure. By documenting it, I hope it does the same for others.”
Adrian is a wildlife filmmaker, TV presenter and voiceover artist with an in-depth knowledge of natural history and all aspects of wildlife filmmaking.
His style is warm and conversational, backed up by years of working with animals around the world both in front of and behind the camera. He’s as comfortable handling scripted documentaries as he is delivering unscripted and off the cuff observations. Adrian is a curious wildlife filmmaker with a vast knowledge of wildlife. It is a mix of these skills that help him sprinkle his passion on camera.
Adrian has authored and shot many of his own films for broadcast, turning the camera on himself and presenting his experiences along the way. An informed observer and very much in the moment, his personally engaged films share wildlife stories as they unfold in front of him. One such authored film Woolly Jumpers: Made in Peru won him the ‘Best Newcomer’ award at the prestigious International Wildlife Film Festival (IWFF)
Other presenting highlights include the 7-part series Snow Leopards of Leafy London for Animal Planet, Rural Matters covering all aspects of country life on Sky, and Gibbons: Back in the Swing for Discovery. Adrian is also a regular face and voice commenting on natural history stories in the news.
“Written, filmed, presented, produced and directed by Adrian Cale – who takes multi-tasking to new levels…. Adrian is an engaging presenter and addresses all the issues that lead to misery for the species: deforestation, hunting and the tourist industry.”
Review of Gibbons: Back in the Swing – BBC Wildlife Magazine
Adrian is an experienced voiceover artist with a rich and welcoming tone that lends itself to narrating, audio books and voiceovers. He’s narrated TV documentaries including the critically acclaimed Panda Babies for the BBC, commercials for clients including Jaguar cars, and was the voice for numerous audio books teaching English to Swedish children.
Adrian has contributed work to various wildlife and environmental charities including International Animal Rescue and the Born Free Foundation and has volunteered for the Zoological Society of London. He is an active supporter of Ape Alliance and the Jane Goodall Institute, and an ambassador for the Young People’s Trust for the Environment.
