Wild Animal Rescue

with Lindsey Chapman and Bill Oddie
wins RTS Yorkshire Award

Congratulations to Lindsey Chapman and Bill Oddie

We are delighted to announce that Channel 5’s “Wild Animal Rescue” won Best Feature at the RTS Yorkshire Awards on Friday.

In the series Bill Oddie, Lindsey Chapman, Steve Backshall and Miranda Krestovnikoff looked at the work of people determined to do the right thing by Britain’s wildlife.

“The judges felt this programme was exemplary. The contributors shared their passion and knowledge in the show with wonderful stories that were compelling and engaging, combined with great wildlife footage which was a delight to watch. But it also did more than just entertain – its messages about the challenges facing nature and the wild came through really strongly, clearly and directly showing the impact of shrinking wildlife. A really complete piece of broadcasting.”

Lindsey Chapman expressed how proud she was of her original concept – a programme to highlight the commitment and enthusiasm of many dedicated people working with British wildlife: “Putting their stories at the heart of the show was absolutely key for me. With a quarter of native UK mammals at imminent risk of extinction, it’s more important than ever to shine a light not only the huge challenges faced by the wildlife on our doorstep but also what can be done, if we act for nature now.”

Many congratulations to Lindsey and Bill, and the great team behind this exemplary series.
